All the economic signs, and the results of a recent American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) survey, indicate an increased interest in and need for OTs and COTAs. In addition, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has been quoted as stating a projected increase in employment for OTs for at least the next few years.

The rise in maladies like cerebral palsy, autism and Alzheimer’s, and/or the loss of limbs due to accidents or disease will require an availability of OT professionals exceeding past and current needs.

The demand for OTs will continue to increase as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health facilities, hospitals, rehab centers, outpatient therapy centers and the like, see an influx of new patients.
